How can I change the position of an item in the creative tab?

How can I change the position of an item in the creative tab?

Lets say I made a ruby sword. How would I be able to place it next to the other swords in the combat tab?

Or lets say I made a new ore. How would I be able to place it next to the other ores in the ingredients tab?

I think you can only sort for custom creative tabs right now.
