Geckolib animated entity instantly disappear - MCreator 2023.3
Sun, 09/24/2023 - 19:49 (edited)

Helllo, I'm new to the MCreator forum but not to MCreator itself.

A long time ago I wanted to create animated entities with Geckolib, and it did work, and now I'm trying to do the same but with the most recents versions of Mcreator and Geckolib plugin. I made my model in Blockbench as well as the idle animation, exported them, and in MCreator in the "Animations" tab of the animated entity element, the idle animation text field is filled with the exact same name as my exported animation (I also tried the name of the animation in Blockbench and it doesn't work).

I've followed the official plugin tutorial but when I try to spawn my custom animated entities (with /summon or spawn egg) it instantly disappear. I tried disabling the "Despawn when idle" option, but it doesn't work either. I may have 3 ideas of why it despawns but I'm really not sure :
- the Geckolib display settings : in order to create an animated entity, we need to import the .geo.json model, the .json animation and something called "Geckolib display settings" which is also a .json file. The thing is, there are no details about what .json file we should import into MCreator.

- Entity AI : it might be as simple as that but I'm not sure about it. Is it just about disabling the AI or something ?

- Procedures : for now I don't haev any animation procedure because I just have the idle animation  in teh "Animations" tab, so I don't know if I need to create a procedure even for the base idle animation...

I'm really stupid, I figured it out on my own, my animations work fine. It was just that my mob was a hostile mob and that my creative world was in peacful difficulty...
