Lead-like Display?

in vanilla minecraft, leads have an nteresting feature where they have a visible "string" that connects from a mob to a fence/your hand

i am making a christmas themed mod with cristmas lights, and i want them to have the same visible "string", but with a different texture

my question is, would it be possible to recreate the same visible "string" vanilla leads use in mcreator?

any help would be greatly appreciated!
