Custom walking, attacking, and dying animation

Hi, I have a question! I started making a custom entity for the game and decided that I would make custom animations of how the character walks, attacks, and dies. I made it so that when the character moves, it will use the jetpack, but when I do this, the character moves before it "flys out", and it looks a bit strange. Is it possible to make the character move only when it starts to fly in the animation? Is it possible to add a delay that would do this? Any help would help me a lot as I have seen people with the same problem as me who didn't get any answer.
