Introduction
Astral Infusion is a mod that allows you to improve and strengthen your weapons, tools and armors with souls.
Note: This mod is very much a WIP. This means that all functions, mechanics, etc. have not been developed yet. This means that some mechanics and functions can still change. The explanation is based on the concept.
Description
Here in this section I will explain the functions and mechanics in detail.
Soul Types:
Every soul you get from the mobs has a type. This type determines the effects you get on the tool, weapon or armor.
Soul Strength:
Soul strength determines how strong the soul is. The strength is calculated by the lifetime of the mob. That means the longer the mob exists in the world, the stronger the soul becomes. Based on this strength, certain calculations of other mechanics are used.
Soul Extraction:
You can extract the souls of mobs. There are several ways to extract these souls. One of them will be to extract the souls through an enchantment.
Soul Forge:
This block allows you to fuse and forge weapons, tools and armor with souls. There will also be various improvements for this block.
Soul Bond:
Any weapon, tool, or armor that is fused with a soul can form bonds with the user. When the bond reaches 100%, the weapon, tool, or armor receives the Soulbound effect (or enchantment), will not despawn, and can only be picked up by the user who has brought the soul bond to 100%. The progress of the soul bond in the item description only shows yours.
Soul Fragments:
Soul fragments can be collected. If you have enough soul fragments of one type, you can combine them into a normal soul. The number of fragments you need determines the rarity and strength of the soul type.
Soul fragments can be obtained in the following situations:
- From a boss. (Only bosses with a boss bar count)
- Through soul extraction (e.g. enchantment)
- Through the soul trader
Soul Trader:
You can visit a Soul Trader to get rare and exclusive souls (that you can't get from mobs) as fragments, as well as upgrades for the Soul Forge.
Soul Corruption:
In addition, every soul has a soul corruption. Each type has a ratio for soul corruption. Items that are fused with a soul can absorb souls to strengthen themselves. This is where the corruption comes into play. Every time a soul is absorbed, the item's corruption will either decrease or increase if the ratio is above 1 or below 1. After a certain amount of corruption, you will also receive negative effects. When the corruption reaches 100%, you can no longer remove the item or armor and then something crazy will happen (but I won't spoil what that is exactly).
Ooh! I can't wait to see how this will turn out! This sounds like a very fun and interesting mod! Good luck!
This sound very fun
