to learn you can use youtube tutorials and wikis, the time that it takes to make a mod changes based on how much content does the mod have and what type of content it is
I started recently and learning the basics of MCreator is not that difficult, and if you ever get stuck there is usually a community to help you out.
mcreator is good if you want to make mincraft mods but not learn java. if you ever get stuck there is always a helpful community on the website and other places. the difficulty depends on how complicated the mod is or how much stuff it has. i woul recomed mcreator
