Translucent mobs. How to?
I'm not sure what to write here, I've had a mod for several years that's been waiting for an answer to this question yet I've never gotten one. I've scoured these forums for an answer and yet I've yet to have one. I'm FAR from the only one who's asking this, too.
If you have any answers to this question, could you please take your time to give one? If you don't, why don't you also add in your own story so this thread gets bumped and therefore someone who has the answer sees this, eh?
Seems like the base texture ("Texture of entity" in "Visual") of an entity can't have transparency but model layers can, so you could just make a blank texture for the base texture and then have your actual texture which has transparency be a model layer.
Unfortunately, to my knowledge, this solution doesn't work. I have my entity model set up precisely that way, and it's still completely opaque.
Huh, that's super weird, I swear it worked for me when I wrote that. But I just tried recreating it, and it doesn't???
I have a geckolib entity with transluscent parts. So it at least works with geckolib just by changing the opacity of the pixels in the texture.
You can see the glow in the model layer (but the color of the texture is only visible when it is dark)
The problem is that it shines....
