Help on making a special weapon

So I've been at it trying to make a meteor hammer and a rope dart, I first tried to make it a weird bow, then I realized you can have more than one projectile, then I tried making it a fishing rod but that only shoots bobbers, now I'm just clueless, any help? Edit: I just realized that I'm basically asking for help making a modified barbed rod (from Hoplite).
