How do I make a procedure that switches the hotbar slot when I press a button/keybind

hi, i'm trying to make a small mod for myself that I can switch hotbar slots with custom key binds (like my mouse side buttons) but I cant find a tutorial or forum that can help me with this stuff, I have already made a keybind element, I just need to know how to the procedures.
