Creating a flower like the sunflower

Hi all. I'm trying to make a plant that is like the vanilla sunflower in its model type, where it has a cross model for a stem and a single face for the flowering part. Is there a way to do this? I only see options for cross models and crop models, and neither of those work for what I want. Thank you.
