geckolib animated block does not rotate properly in-game

geckolib animated block does not rotate properly in-game

Ive made a geckolib animated block that's all functional. the problem i am facing is that the model doesn't update for pitch rotation. I can see the boundary borders clearly rotate as intended but not the block itself! It only seems to work for rotations around one axis and not both which means when implemented that i cant stick my block to the wall or ceiling without it looking janky. Is there some way to make the animated block follow the correct orientations like regular blocks can? Help is much appreciated 👍
