How to fix a missing plugin on an old mod

i recently wanted to go back to a mod ive been working on for years just for fun and realised that the curios api plugin i was using was discontinued.
since i dont really care for the features using the plugin in my mod, is there any way for me to remove those uses of the plugin off of the mod so that i can work on it again? or are there any alternatives to this that could keep those in without downgrading mcreator altogether? 
on a side note, the plugins page has a link to a non-working updated alternative. does that plug in even exist, are we waiting for it and if we are, is it going to be compatible with the old curios plugin?
