Custom recipes not showing up in /recipe or recipe book

I've made quite a few recipes, but for some reason, none of them show up in the recipe book until after I actually do the recipe, which makes it difficult for me and my friends to play the mod, and when I tried to find them in /recipe, they were just full-on not there and weren;t unlockable through /recipe unless I do /recipe give @s *, which gives me every single recipe.
