mobs that is one same thing in code

I want to make it so that the cubs are separate mobs, and at the same time both adults and cubs are considered by the game code as the same creature. How to do this? And also, how to make it so that the creature attacks any animal except its relatives (I specified that the tyrannosaurus attacks animals, specified the tyrannosaurus itself as an animal, and they kill their relatives)
