Issue with no bucket being left over after smelting/smoking

I'm trying to smelt this item I have called "Aged Bucket of Milk" that turns into cheese when in a furnace or smoker but I would like for a bucket to be left behind in the input slot whenever the cheese is produced. I've tried just setting the Slot 0 to bucket when item is smelted through the trigger and procedures and I have the item remainder selected as bucket in the item properties section but that only works for crafting and not smelting unfortunately.
