Hello, I currently have a big issue. I created an aquatic mob that does not swim at all. It just stays still, floating on the surface, and sometimes sinks a bit into the water. I checked all the water entity, water type, and water spawn options, but nothing works. I also added AI tasks like swim randomly, move, and fly around...
When creating the mob, there are selection for if they are a water mob, select that, and also make sure floats to the top is not selected, in the AI goals, you can generate templates for hostile and passive water mobs.
I have all of that, here are the pictures. https://imgur.com/a/1ro9yr4
I imagine it might be caused by the flight fighting against the water entity characteristic, if you want to let it fly sometimes you could give it an effect in a small chance and have it override it's movement to where ever it is looking when it has that effect.
I removed the flight ability but unfortunately it still doesn’t work; the mob doesn’t move at all. I have others (exactly the same except for their colors) that do move and can swim to the surface like any land mob — which is ironic for an aquatic mob.
Hmm, then how about duplicating those other mobs, and just changing their colors and name to match the one that isn't working?
indeed, I had made a mistake in code and placed the last slowness incorrectly, but it still doesn’t move when water entity is checked out or in the water
Does this also happen in 2025.3?
