How to render custom leggings armor model only once on body

Hi everybody,

I was making a cosmetic mod but I had lots of difficulty with the armors. I would like to make an armor that is placed in the leggings slot and renders only a single time (custom model I make in blockbench). Normally when I place custom armors on the leggings part of the armor, it renders once for each leg. I need to be able to place the armor in the leggings slot, but it only renders once and latches onto a different bone, such as body or head. Is there any way to do this with procedures or custom code?
