Topic category: Help with Minecraft modding (Java Edition)
I am extremely new to creating mods like 2 days in. I do not understand all of the language of coding and mod creation so please go easy on me. I am doing my best. I am creating a mod on MCreator 2025.3. I have created 2 variables so far on the workspace variable tabs but when I am making a procedure they are not listed in the drop down box in the puzzle pieces. I can create a local variable in the procedures editing page and it will show, but not the ones created for the workspace. From what I understand I need the actual variables in order for the procedure to work properly and not the "local" ones. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I recently decided that I would be the coolest mom ever if I created mods or better yet a game for my two boys to play. I started collage to get a bachelors of science majoring in game development and programming. While I am completing that, I have downloaded a few apps to try to learn what I can on my own but the "procedures" are extremely challenging to me.
What you need to know is there are 2 types of variables: Global variables (the ones in the variables tab on the left of you workspace) and Procedure variables (managed on the top right variables sections of the procedure). Only Global variables show up in the variables workspace tab, and only local/procedure variables show up in the procedure. You can get and set both using custom variable procedure blocks
