THIS IS SOMEWHAT A DUPLICATE, FORMER REPORTS OF THIS BUG ARE EITHER NOT FOUND OR YEARS OLD.
Recently, I have found out that the despawn block is actually broken and instead of targeting the entity you are targeting, it targets the player no matter what you add.
Despawning the player ingame breaks the game (until reloaded) by keeping ghost mobs, breaking blocks not working right, etc.
Are you sure you are using entity targeting blocks correctly. The player and entity being targeted can be either event/target entity, source entity, or immediate source entity. Which one depends on what is triggering the procedure.
I've tried most target blocks and even tried targeting the entity using "Entity in square size", yet it just keeps on despawning the player.
I've tried event/target entity, source entity, putting the actual procedure the entity triggers, etc. And yet nothing working.
