Custom Block Model

I created a custom block model and imported it as a JSON to MCreator. For the block item texture of most blocks in Minecraft, it just wraps the texture to the block so you get the 3D block as the item texture in the inventory. There are some special cases such as the stone cutter which has a unique block item texture in the inventory. This is the issue I am running into. For my custom block model, I kept the block item texture for the inventory blank and it just gives me this flat item texture. I tried using the actual block texture as the block inventory texture, but it doesn't wrap to the custom model, it is just the entire block model texture in the inventory. Does anyone know how to get the block as a custom model in the player's inventory like the stone cutter?

You could try importing the JSON back into blockbench to change the display settings. Other than that, make sure your texture map is an already textured image and the texture of the block is the same texture. Leave the "block item texture" blank. It might help, but idk for sure :/

Alternatively, Geckolib works for some versions of MCreator for animated blocks, but thats only if it's available for what youre doing.
