Hi! Another way I work around this is creating single layered structures with the desired block, for example;
I want to make my Coniferous forest have Podzol patches to do this I:
1. Create a patch of podzol and export it as a structure via Structure Blocks
2. Create the structure but set it to only spawn in Grass Blocks or whatever your Biome's base block is
3. Set the spawn rate very high, around 900k or more. I promise this won't cover the entire land it's actually not that much!
