You could create a mod that adds something Minecraft is missing. Think of something (caves, the Nether, the End...) and add some original features (or inspired from other mods, but without making duplicates) to it.
Thanks for the idea. I make a mod with things like termites, Baobab trees, nether dungeons (with cracked chiseled nether rack, in chest there are nether rack tools) and some end things as well. I make also a end gateway block for decoration
