I'd like a feature that makes it so when the player attacks your custom mob, you can have certain potion effects be applied to the player for a certain duration.

You could probably find some way to do it using the "When Entity Is Hurt" procedure so it applies potion effects to whatever attacked it
I’ve already tried this the effects only get applied the mob not the player. Like the developer Klemen said we need to wait until they fix the ticket.
I have created a mob in the "when entity is hurt" section and I put the "add potion", only I change the event/target entity for a source entity.
Also, because of how my mob works, I also put the "add potion" in "when player collides with this entity". I hope it helps you even if it's a year late :v
