Is there a way to highlight a block / some blocks?

Hi modders and minecraft players, i've got a question for you all, is there a way to make a mod highlight a certain block? the effect i wanna give is like with the hack "storage esp" if there is a chest rendered around you, even if it is covered with a block, you'll be able to see it highlighted with a yellowy block around this block, and if there is, is there a way to do it with entiites too?
