How do I check to see if a player is wearing a certain type of armor?

How do I check to see if a player is wearing a certain type of armor?

I need to check if a player wears the helmet, chest plate, leggings, and boots for one type of armor so that I can give the player status effects based on which armor series it is. Can anybody help?
