This has only been tested for 1.14.4 on 2020.2 Snapshots!
Fences
Step 1: Create a fences block tag, make sure that the namespace is set to minecraft and that the type is set to blocks.
Step 2: Add your fence block to this tag.
Step 3: Make sure your fence is the Material Type of the fences you want it to connect to e.g Wood material if it connects to wood fences
May need to give fences a Block Update.
Walls
Step 1: Create a walls block tag, make sure that the namespace is set to minecraft and that the type is set to blocks.
Step 2: Add your wall block to this tag.
Step 3: Material Type can be any.
May need to give walls a Block Update.
Sorry if a tutorial for this already exists on here, I tried looking and couldn't find one.

ye
is this posibble with fence gates if you make a custom block model and you do that with fence gates is it then conecting to the fence gate?
I have not tried making any fence gates, but there does not seem to be a tag for them so this will not work
This doesn't seem to work with me when I tried it with nether fences
That is because this tutorial is for connecting them to wooden fences which do not connect to nether brick fences.
I mean't the crimson and warped fences as nether fences
Thank you for this forum as I didn't understand why my fences and walls weren't connecting to each other at all.
Thank you,you the best.
