Okay so, i have created a mod that has a couple more stuff to your minecraft and for example i have added a backpack, an upgrade station. A wooden crate, a hammer were you open it by right clicking and you can put in a wood block and choose to craft between a wooden slab or wooden stairs. Please give me a possible idea to do and to not break the theme! :)
You could add some structure like dungeon or castle, with some chest that can only be open with a key that the boss drop?
And maybe try to add more type of weapons?

Have a sort of storyline so players can progress - maybe kill one boss which drops an item that lights the portal to another dimension with a new boss? I like the idea of a structure which could be accessed via a key dropped by the boss. Maybe a portal could be inside the structure or something? I'm being rather general but an idea of the gameplay can help you get more ideas.
