How to export as animated java entity

Hello, I am trying to export a model in blockbench as a animated java entity through the geckolib plugin on there but there is no option to do that. I went to the geckolib settings and it was set to entity already. I looked at the geckolib tutorials on here. I even watched a video. Is there anything that I can do to fix this. If I were to do the default animations for mcreator, the head of the regular .java model goes all wonkey. The .java file does not work for custom animations.
