Can't Drag Mod Elements Into Folders

So this seems really dumb and simple but I just can't get this to work and don't know if I'm missing something obvious? I downloaded the 1.16.5 release from this morning, and I made a folder and tried to drag mod elements into it like it appeared was happening in the animation on the post. But when I try to drag a mod element, it just selects everything I've moved my mouse over, it doesn't actually let me drag anything. I tried closing and reopening MCreator, I tried dragging with left and right mouse buttons, middle mouse button, holding shift and clicking with the mouse, everything I could think of. What's going on?
