so basically in my mod, you can select 2 perks on your character via a menu. every perk needs to be unlocked (preferably in an interesting way) before use. perks have both upsides and downsides with better upsides leading to worse downsides.
some ideas for obtaining the perk you may have come up with if you can't think of any:
a custom boss that drops an item you use to unlock it (item unlocks make use of special potential orbs, so if you feel like it maybe come up with a design for said orb)
an item you craft (same thing about item unlocks as the boss one)
an achievement that unlocks it

Sand Worm
gives speed if you are on sand, obtained by traveling on a Desert for 20 minutes maybe?

Ravager
Give you Stregth but u will very hungry
pretty basic but pretty good
the mod is almost ready for super early access and I plan to have it out within the weekend. the mod will be called Minecraft but its an anime, currently only a perk system is in place but I may implement traits you choose when starting a world on the first release, so look out for the mod!
(clarification, it sounds like I said you need to be on the first release to use traits, I meant that it will be made available on the first release. hope you enjoy the mod when it releases soon!)
Phantom
You can fly and you give any nearby entity an effect like weakness or blindness its your choice . Can be obtained by getting killed by a phantom
downside is you burn in daylight.
Blaze
immune to fire and lava. Can be obtained by getting burned until you reach half heart or die from lava
you hate water, your weakness is water
Undead
your strong and can poison other players and gains permanent night vision when its night and zombies don’t attack you
can be obtained by eating a stack of rotten flesh
downsides: daylight burns you, fire does extra damage, permanent hunger effect
Drowned
permanent water breathing effect. Same abilities as undead
to obtain you must have undead perk and drown until you reach half a heart
downsides: same as undead
Pig Greed
Makes Gold Tools more useful with durability

oh yeah, when I add a perk that is suggested here I add credits in the perk, so I suppose if you wanna choose the color just tell me otherwise it will be a light blue.
if u add mine (piglin greed) make it dark red or just red.
Ender Master
When in the end, gain strength and regen? Obtained via throwing 100 ender pearls
