Help With 3D item texture

I am making a 3D item texture (Lightsaber) but I am having trouble exporting it from block bench, to MCreator.

I click on Import JSON 3D Model then it forces me to pick a Model texture part, I believe it is mistaking it for a block and I Dont know how I can fix it.

Could someone please tell me how to import an 3D Item texture?

thank you

Create your 3d item in…
Sat, 05/07/2022 - 01:12
  1. Create your 3d item in Blockbench
  2. Save the texture
  3. Save the model as *.json (blocks and items are *.json)
  4. In MCreator Import JSON 3D model
  5. import your recently created *.json model
  6. It will ask you for the texture, click on import texture
  7. Select the recently saved texture(s)
  8. Create an item/tool/weapon/block
  9. Select as model the recently imported *.json model
  10. Save and test

Note: If you decide to have several textures for one model, make sure you select them in the proper order ... if not, you will have a texture issue/glitch in-game.

Solution: If using several textures in Blockbench, before saving the texture and model ... but after applying the textures:

  1. In Blockbench, select the entire model
  2. With the model selected, Create Texture as 16x (or higher if needed)
  3. It will create a new texture with all your previous textures (combined and properly mapped)
  4. Save only that new created texture
  5. save the model
  6. In MCreator Import JSON 3D model
  7. import your recently created *.json model
  8. It will ask you for the texture, click on import texture
  9. Select the recently saved texture
  10. Create a new item/tool/weapon/block
  11. Select as a model the recently imported *.json model
  12. Save and test

Do the same thing as before, but instead do creating a tool/item, just create a block with a 3D model
