Coding a function

Hello. I don't own normal minecraft, but my school district pays for use of the education edition. I usually make my own maps for my students to use, and I thought a worldedit mod might help me make them faster. However, all the working mods need experimental gameplay, which is not a thing in M:EE. so eventually, I decided to make my own worldedit mod. I decided to turn it into a function pack, but I don't understand what coding language to use. M:EE is highly based on bedrock edition. do I just use the same format as if running commands in game, or do I use another coding language such as python or javascript? please help!
