Im trying to make a keybind drop a ton of dripstone with placing blocks but it only places them up and doesn't make them fall. I would like to know how to do this.

Im trying to make a keybind drop a ton of dripstone with placing blocks but it only places them up and doesn't make them fall. I would like to know how to do this.
I also cannot add an image because of how long it is
just place dripstone blocks at y + 2 and x+[no.] z+ [no.]
