Topic category: Feature requests and ideas for MCreator
MCreator should have a feature called "Block Overlay." Essentially an overlay for a block, like a sign but instead of text it's an image.
Just click the "+" button, and then click "Block Overlay."
Name the overlay, choose the texture(s) for the overlay, and then you created it!
In procedures, you should have a code block that says "change block overlay to:" and you can change it.
You should also be able to apply multiple overlays to the same block.
This saves time to create all of the textures for one block.
I hope this gets added!
(also there should be a 3d block overlay which basically merges the models of 2 blocks to make custom blocks easier like flower pots)
the last line is confusing and seems excessive
This is a wonderful idea. This would make complicated designs so much easier. Imagine a new type of snow-like carpet that makes the block underneath it have an overlay to make it look like it's pouring over the side or a new grass-like block that grows down the side of many blocks vertically. This concept would be very appreciated and heavily functional.
(Having the model overlay like a flower pot would be revolutionary for efficiency as well!)
