I am trying to make a block that when placed, stays in the players inventory but also gets placed, similar to how blocks work in creative. Is there a way to accomplish this

I am trying to make a block that when placed, stays in the players inventory but also gets placed, similar to how blocks work in creative. Is there a way to accomplish this

i made it quickly but it gets the job done, only works in the main hand but that cab be easily changed to work in the off hand or both.
What I would do is make it so that when you place the block, add another one of that block to the inventory
