Topic category: Help with Minecraft modding (Java Edition)
Alright, so I'm trying to make an effect that creates an overlay for the player who has that effect. I had no issues creating the overlay, but I wasn't sure how to make a procedure that would actually cause the overlay to appear. The video tutorial wasn't helpful either, since it seems to be a bit outdated, and I couldn't find any procedure that would link a variable to the overlay displaying.
Have you tried something like this?

ahha thats pretty funny i was working on that yesterday for night vision googles overlay :D good to know you already got help
