Why does my cake block replace solid block when placed

The cake block I made works for the most part. However there is one part that doesn't. When testing the cake i made a wall of stone bricks and then looked up at the wall and right click on one of the blocks and the block above it was replaced with cake. I don't want the cake to replace blocks so i decided to come here to ask if anyone knows what is wrong. If there is a topic already related to my issue then please tell me because I looked and didn't see any issues related to mine.
