Is there a way to change weapon's attack speed?

I've been looking for quite some time, especially inside the code and I don't see any values. The only one is the block breaking speed.
Is there a way to change weapon attack speed without the use of custom enchantments?

I am using a custom weapon. 1.20.1 forge.
