Please help me get jigsaw blocks to work

Im kinda new to mod making so sorry if i get terminology wrong Im trying to get a custom village structure to generate but right now i cant even get a path to generate after looking at videos on how to do it all day I have gotten almost no where I don't know if this is a me problem or a bug but any help or advice on how to proceed would be much appreciated the starting village structure spawns fine but the Jigsaw blocks fail to generate anything I used to have more in the pool but I got rid of everything but the road for i bit i could get the road to generate but only in center places if that helps https://imgur.com/a/kiEbVhV Photos for more info
