In the past, I have struggled a lot with finding inspiration for my Minecraft mods. However, more recently, I've found a few strategies that are helpful for me to find cool ideas for mods, so I thought I'd ought to share them with the rest of you!
- Use the random article button on Wikipedia. In order to find the random article button, you need to press the hamburger icon and you should see it in the main menu.
- Consume some content. Sometimes, taking a break and spending time watching non-Minecraft-related things (when I mod for long periods of time, I usually get stuck with watching mostly Minecraft content) can be a good source of inspiration.
- Make mods based off your pre-existing interests. If your interest is vast, and covers a lot of topics, then you could make a mod encompassing the entirety of the subject, or a smaller mod highlighting your favorite parts of it!

Just to add to this, sometimes, also, you might just find a show or movie you like enough to create it in Minecraft! I'm doing this with Puella Magi Madoka Magica, myself.
