The boundaries of large models

I'm facing a problem with large models. Minecraf thinks that my model is 1 block, and it doesn't matter how I set the borders through MC. Is there a way to fix this on 5*3 Bl.
I would also appreciate any suggestions on how to make the borders transparent when unlocking doors like on gates/doors.
