Like the topic says - I build the portal, I go through the portal, I'm on the bedrock roof of my new dimension. It's not all the time, but it's pretty common.
I'm using the snapshot for 26.3, so I'm not sure if this is a new bug, an old problem, or something long solved (I did a couple quick searches, but found nothing).
