Good day fellow modders,
Recently I have been watching some Death Note, and I thought to my self... What if the death note was in Minecraft? I quickly began to work on the program but stumbled on one thing. I made a gui open when you click the book, but how would I make a insert text box change a variable? I want it so if I type in a players name (Lets say it is a girl named Alice) and touch a button on the GUI, then in 40 seconds Alice will die. So to be clear, I would like
*A custom code or command that will change a variable to the name given in the text imput.
*A code that allows me to wait for a certain amount of time.
*It done in a quick amount of time.
Hope someone here would help me be able to find this!

I know right, I tried a Death Note mod while ago too, sadly I had this same issue.
Ugh! I wish they had a better GUI option! That reminds me, I need to copy right this mod!

There is a way to do it, but im afraid if I tried to give out the coding for DEATH-CRAFT I would be breaking some copy right laws.
