That sounds like a cool idea! Here is how to do it

For the block, you are going to want to go to the on tick update area and add a procedure.
This is the procedure, repeat for Y and Z
Note the horrid looking purple mess is the infection block

It works and it works well jut one problem if i right click the block it goes back to its original block
and if i log out and then start the world again all the blocks go back to original
I don't know why that's happening. Try it with a diffrent block, it might just be your infection block that is causing that.
