Block variants

I think it would be a good iea if there was an option to make block or item variants of the existing ones of the game such as making a sign without making a lot of textures and having to use coding.Maybe you coul click on the sign and change the colours or use different textures so you coud make doors or fence gates easily and use the properties of an iron door if you want it to behave like an iron door or using a wwoden one so it would work without redstone.Or making a variant of the planks so it would have the same properties unless you change them.
