Custom block appears too big in my hand

So I made my own json block model with Blockbench and added it to my mod; it is working fine if I place the block, however the block looks oversized in my hand if I check me from third person view;

My question is what parameters should I check so that the block looks okay in my hand?

In the Blockbench I used 16x16x16 size of a block; I think, if I make my block tinier, it will also be smaller if placed

sorry if this is a bit too late, being posted 4 years later, but for anyone googling, you have to change the settings in the display tab, which is located in blockbench, next to EDIT|PAINT|DISPLAY. Reccommened to use the "block" preset.
