Custom music discs not playing music on servers but work on singleplayer

I am making a minecraft server where i host concerts weekly and im making a mod for it. I've added a couple songs to test if it works and it works fine on singleplayer but when i try to play it on my forge server with the mod on there it still doesnt work. All i can do is hold the music discs, anyone got any ideas?
