Help with changing vanilla textures of entity's

I was trying to use this tutorial to change the texture of the wither, but the game would immediately crash when I tried to load it. I made the Minecraft, textures, and entity folder and I put the wither.png texture in the entity folder, but the just kept crashing. Can somebody please help me?
