Topic category: Help with modding (Java Edition)
So I'm pretty new to modding (making, not using) and I currently have 1 goal, and 1 goal only. I don't know how many of you are familiar with the YouTuber GrayStillPlays or his channel, but Minecraft used to be one of the games he "broke" until he changed to Happy Wheels and GTA V seemingly leaving Minecraft forever. Anyways (sorry for long rant), in his MC videos, he has a chicken named Reginald. It was (obviously) custom as it wore a dapper top hat, bowtie, followed him like a tamed wolf does, immune to fire and is immortal.
I've been tinkering with MCreator and I'm kinda starting to get the jist of it but I'm having some issues. I took the default chicken texture and modified it (or so i thought) so it was wearing the bowtie and top hat, however when I figured out how to make it into the .jar file and import it, I can't explain the horrifying results in-game. I don't know what exactly I did when i modified the texture but it looked like something straight out of a sci-fi horror film. I was able to modify it's health, and behavior (passive, not attacking anything), but I'd like to either have it spawn in game when I do or set the proper event to transform the chicken into Reginald as we set of for adventures together. I've reached out to GrayStillPlays with no luck and have searched countless forums to see if anyone else has created Reginald or knows if the custom mods he used in his videos were ever released publicly (ie - Lucky Blocks, Super Ore, Reginald, etc) but to no avail.
Would love some advice on what I've done wrong or didn't do at all to get this working. I'd be open to someone creating the mod themselves but I would never ask that of anyone because I want to learn. Oh, the versions I would be using this mod will be 1.18.2 (My VR mode works on this version only) and 1.19 as it's the newest.
