Are you referencing any custom variables in the wait block? That would prevent it from compiling properly. Otherwise, I'm not really sure. There were problems in previous versions with wait blocks failing when they were put inside other wait blocks, but these issues were fixed in the latest version.
no i am on the latest version and there are no custom variables. i have been told that they sometimes play up with plugins but i thought that issue was gone

From what I been testing wait no longer works in most sections for 1.19.2 and 1.18.2 in 2022.3 not sure why or what work around there is.
